An enterprise planning system integrated with Anaplan

Context

Godrej Agrovet is a listed Indian agribusiness. The engagement is a planning system that connects with Anaplan, the enterprise connected-planning platform — work that sits inside a service line my employer runs as an Anaplan implementation partner.

It has been running since 2022 and is still active.

Leadership & decisions

Requirements before specification. Enterprise planning engagements rarely arrive with a finished brief. Where one did not exist, gathering it was mine to do — sitting with the client to establish what the system actually needed to do before anyone estimated how to build it.

Owning the relationship directly. I held the client conversation myself rather than routing it through account management. On a multi-year engagement the distance between what a client asks for and what they need is closed in those conversations, not in a requirements document.

A schedule measured in years, not sprints. The discipline on a long-running enterprise engagement is different from shipping a product: the delivery commitment is the thing the client plans their own work around, so protecting it matters more than optimising any individual release.

Outcome

A planning system in production and an engagement still running four years on.
